Hi, my name is Annie! I was born and raised in Tulsa, OK. I was fortunate to grow up in a Christian home, and I have truly loved Jesus for a long time. He’s the foundation of my life. I got married a year and a half ago to my “handsome”, as I often call him (he doesn’t hate it). I relocated to Nashville, TN from my second hometown, Los Angeles, CA, when Colton and I got married after dating long distance for 3 years. God was faithful to bring a wise, God-fearing husband into my life in the most unexpected way imaginable. (Side note: waiting on God’s timing is worth it!) The transition to Nashville has come with its share of difficulties, but it has all been well worth it. I have had some amazing experiences, and I’ve been blessed with making some incredible friends that are chasing after God’s heart.

I currently have the privilege of going on the road with my husband. During one of the recent tours we were a part of, there was familiar voice speaking every night, Sadie Robertson! That’s where our paths crossed. We live almost full time on a tour bus as we venture across the country.  Even though we eat way too much pizza and are rarely on a consistent schedule, I never dreamed I would get to do something so exciting! It’s has truly been so great for me  because I love a varied schedule.

“Now to the God who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all we could ask, think or imagine.”
Ephesians 3:20

When I look back over my life, I see how God has been faithful, and how he has never left my side.  From a young age, I aimed to please Him.  Even if our efforts fall short, He so graciously redeems our mistakes.

I believe when we are focused on fulfilling the plan of God for our lives, He will fill in the rest (Proverbs 37:4). Instead of focusing solely on buying every item we want, landing that dream position at work, or getting the recognition we feel we deserve, we can follow this verse:

“Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33

Part of “these things” the verse is referring to is provisions, and that includes food and clothing. When we shift our focus to Him, fully seeking His Kingdom and His righteousness first, He is faithful to do His part.  The Bible tells us not to be anxious concerning these things. How awesome is that?! I see it like this: when we walk forward with our eyes on Him, working for His glory, material things can come in behind us along the way. Here’s the thing, though, it should never shift our focus. We aren’t changed by a substance. We are changed by a relationship with God. That’s where true peace is.

A good way to stay grounded is to know what is true. The Bible holds the Truth, and when we seek His wisdom, our faith gets stronger. We need to speak Truth to confront lies. That’s where things will change.

Side note: while reading a few scriptures as I was writing this post, faith rose up and I spoke against a pain I’ve been having in my body. “By His stripes, we were healed” (Isaiah 53:5).

“Seeking first His Kingdom” requires sacrifice, but when we obey God, He has something higher, better, brighter for you in the long run. It may not be the “easy” road, but it’s definitely a rewarding one.

This keeps me steady –  I believe God’s plans are to “prosper and not to harm, to give us a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11). I have never had a “falling away” from God, simply because He has always been my security, my hope, my peace, and my joy.

I encourage you to seek Him above all else and you’ll experience a fullness of life still untapped.

“…Seek and you will find.”  Matthew 7:7

I pray you are strengthened and you remember how much God loves you.
